Compliance officers may request information about the chemical substances present in your products, so it is crucial for everyone in the supply chain to understand your legal responsibilities.

REACH (the Registration, Evaluation and Restriction of chemicals) is the primary legislation in the European Union that imposes restrictions on substances that are known to be hazardous to human health or to the environment.

This introductory session will be presented by Martin Heels, SATRA’s Head of Chemistry, and will discuss the background of this complex piece of chemical legislation, the requirements for chemicals, what is an article, the mandatory requirements for articles in annex XVII, Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) and the enforcement of REACH.

Part 2 in this webinar series will explain the annex XVII requirements in detail, with the final part of the trilogy focusing on SVHCs.
