Footwear Testing and Laboratory Management
Wednesday 18th April 2018 to Thursday 19th April 2018
YOU ARE VIEWING AN EVENT THAT HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE
This event is available to SATRA members only
A two day technical workshop covering the key aspects of footwear testing and the important principles of laboratory management.
As manufacturers and brands strive to improve the quality of their products, many companies are relying more heavily on footwear testing. Brands expect their suppliers to implement test routines to ensure basic quality and fit-for-purpose products, and will only accept test results from well-managed, accredited laboratories.
Many technicians are trained on individual tests, but have little knowledge of basic testing principles and the key elements of laboratory management. Unless laboratories have robust management and quality systems in place, the validity of test reports can be compromised. Establishing a footwear laboratory is a big investment and it is important to make sure that all staff involved are fully trained to provide an accurate reliable service.
This course is aimed at laboratory technicians, supervisors and
managers. This two-day workshop is open to SATRA members only.
Topics covered:
- Basic principles of testing
- Lab organisation, layout and climate control
- Test equipment calibration
- Practical demonstration of common tests
- Preparation of test reports
- Key elements of lab management
- Lab documentation
- Lab accreditation
