PPE certification boost
Increase in response to new legislation
14th March 2017
SATRA personal protection equipment (PPE) certification income increased by five percent between 2015 and 2016 in response to new PPE legislation.
The increase was driven by customers responding to changes in European test standards, particularly for glove testing to EN 388 'Gloves giving protection from mechanical risks' and EN 374-1 'Protective gloves against chemicals and micro-organisms'.
Many of these customers are also preparing for changes to the European PPE legislation in anticipation of the new regulation (EU) 2016/425.
This upward trend is expected to continue into 2017 and SATRA has employed two additional members of staff within the product certification team to meet the extra demand.
