Bata appoints new chief executive

Alexis Nasard was most recently president of Heineken’s Western European business.

Alexis Nasard has been selected to lead Bata’s global branded, retail and e-commerce footwear business as group chief executive officer. He joins Bata with 24 years of experience in consumer goods, including six years at Heineken, most recently as president of the $8 billion Western European business and as global chief marketing officer for global and local brands. During 17 years at Procter & Gamble, Mr Nasard held various senior management roles, including defining the strategies for new product categories and selling through various retail channels, both in developed and emerging markets. He holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley (Haas School of Business), and a Master’s in engineering from St Joseph University (Beirut).
