SATRA leather course taken to Australia

Dr Christine Powley-Williams recently led a SATRA intensive leather course in Melbourne, Australia – the first time this two-day seminar has been organised there. Six delegates (from the Department of Defence, Victor Footwear and Blundstone Australia) attended the sessions where they learned about raw material defects, hide and skin structures, leathermaking, leather identification and leather grading. They also discussed testing and specifications, restricted substances testing and legislation and how to investigate leather problems.

This popular course is held regularly in the UK, the next opportunity to attend being 4th to 5th July 2018. The course will also be run for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 20th to 21st August 2018. Please visit www.satra.com/events for further details and to reserve your spaces.
