Webinars and Online Resources

SATRA expanding library of online resources

The online SATRA resource centre is proving to be a valuable supply of timely information for members around the world.

SATRA intends to continue with its popular programme of live online webinars covering a variety of key industry topics. Attendee numbers for these events has been very high, with over 400 people registering for a recent presentation. Details of these events are published on www.satra.com/resources and they will supplement on-site training that will resume once it is responsible to do so. These webinars are presented (sometimes with a Chinese translation) on specific days at 10:00 GMT and are often repeated at 16:00 GMT for members in North and South America. Hundreds of online attendees have taken advantage of this new provision, all of whom have the opportunity to pose questions during the presentations and hear a live response at the conclusion of the session.

In addition to the regular live events, SATRA is rapidly building an online library of recordings of the webinars as well as supplementary video presentations on a variety of key footwear-related issues, access to which is reserved for member companies. This online provision ensures that all members who were unable to watch the live online events can still benefit from the experience of SATRA’s experts and other industry figures whenever they choose. These presentations include fast-moving and informative reports on such issues as the chemical testing of children’s footwear, managing consumer complaints, slip resistance of footwear soles, common failures in safety footwear, water resistance of footwear, and selling children’s footwear in Europe.

Other video discussions in the members’ resources section examine sustainability in the footwear industry and chemical compliance with the European REACH legislation. This site also includes a number of short SATRA video reports on thermal properties, grit testing and the Global Foot Dimensions study.

SATRA members can also search for and read SATRA Bulletin articles covering a comprehensive archive of technical information from the past 100 issues.
