Updated RSLs now available

The March 2022 issues of SATRA’s Restricted Substances Lists (RSLs) are now available for download.

SATRA has published three RSLs which contain information about restricted substances that are applicable to the materials typically used in footwear, furniture and consumer products. SATRA updates these documents every six months to include the latest restricted substances legislation, such as amendments to REACH (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) Annex XVII, UK REACH and the POP Regulation (EU) 2019/1021. This latest revision also ordered the entries alphabetically to make the lists easier to navigate.

SATRA’s RSLs also include references to the test methods to assess conformity with legislation. Since the September 2021 editions, there have been revised test methods for dimethyl formamide (EN ISO 16189:2021), organotins (SATRA TM277:2022), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (EN ISO 16190:2021). A very important addition to the RSLs were changes to REACH entry 68 regarding perfluorocarboxylic acids (PFCAs). An article explaining their restrictions can be read here.
