Arzu Arman (SATRA), Powerbike SA’s Katarzyna Kanturska, James Milhench (Milspeed) and Armand Van Der Merwe of Dick Whittington Shoes recently completed their SATRA Accredited Footwear Technologist (SAFT) examinations and have been awarded SAFT accreditation.
The SAFT qualification is recognised internationally and covers the key shoemaking topics of ‘lasts, fitting and comfort’, ‘materials’, ‘testing’, ‘constructions and product design’, ‘risk assessment and quality assurance’, ‘industrial footwear’ and ‘production efficiency, costing and specifications’.

Arzu Arman received her SAFT certificate from SATRA executive director, Michael Bodsworth

The course – which provides knowledge of footwear development, manufacturing and sourcing, as well as related skills – is open to all SATRA members and will next be held in the UK in March 2023 and the US in September/October. Please contact training@satra.com for further information.
