Shoemakers report positive 2023 sales figures

Several US-based companies have announced growth in their footwear sales during 2023. These include Skechers, which is said to have achieved its highest-ever sales figures, bringing in a total of USD 8 billion (GBP 6.3 billion) for the year ending on December 31st. This represents a 7.5 per cent increase over the previous year. Although revenue from the Europe, Middle East and Africa region experienced a year-on-year drop of 7 per cent, the final quarter of 2023 resulted in a 15 per cent growth within the Asia-Pacific market, with a double-digit boost reported to have been realised within China. Sales in the Americas during this period grew by 3 per cent.

Meanwhile, Deckers has logged record third-quarter revenue and earnings, driven by what has been described as an ‘exceptional performance’ from both the Hoka and Ugg brands. In Q3 of its 2024 fiscal year which ended on 31st December, the company’s net sales reached just under USD 1.6 billion (GBP 1.3 billion), which is a 16 per cent increase over the same period of the previous year.
