Although at the time of writing the world faces uncertainty over US tariffs, it is good to read of footwear being exported to many other countries around the world. For example, most footwear made in Vietnam’s Dong Nai province is produced for international brands, and this is now sent to more than 70 nations and territories.
According to the Vietnamese government’s Department of Industry and Trade, the export of footwear manufactured in Dong Nai generated USD 759 million (GBP 588.5 million) during the first two months of 2025. This reportedly represented an increase of 68 per cent in comparison to the same period of 2024 and accounted for 18.3 per cent of the province’s total export turnover. Footwear is also Dong Nai’s largest trade surplus product, with a surplus of almost USD 650 million (GBP 504.4 million) reported in January and February of this year.
It comes as no surprise that footwear is Dong Nai’s largest export product. The province – in the southeast of the country – is among the top four provinces and cities in Vietnam with the highest footwear export figures, alongside Ho Chi Minh city, Binh Duong province and Thanh Hoa province.
Many factories in the area are said to be leading the transition toward green production to meet customer demands.
