AMG laboratory gains gold status
An AMG laboratory has received the first SATRA gold rating in Bangladesh.

The Advanced Manufacturing Group (AMG)’s Bangladesh laboratory recently received a 100 per cent score in its 2025 SATRA audit, as it became the first SATRA gold rated footwear testing facility in the country. The environmentally controlled facility also reportedly meets QS1000:2024 quality standards.
According to AMG, the 45 square metre laboratory is home to advanced test equipment and has comprehensive testing capabilities covering more than 30 brands’ standards. Members of the laboratory team are said to conduct 250 tests every day and issue over 12,000 test reports per year.
The company has a ‘hybrid’ model of supply chain management, which is claimed to be both collaborative and comprehensive. AMG’s structure includes in-house design, product development, material sourcing, tooling/engineering, commercialisation, production planning, quality control and quality assurance teams.
A global supply chain
A global company, AMG has located a number of offices to support its customers, and the organisation sources products from throughout Asia. Its portfolio of clients reportedly includes major retailers – for which it supplies private-label products – as well as a group of international brands. Footwear is made for the tactical, work, service, athletic, outdoor and lifestyle categories. Through its contracted manufacturers, AMG produces over ten million pairs of footwear each year and this figure is said to be continuing to grow.
With a strong focus on ‘country-of-origin diversification’, AMG is expanding its presence throughout Asia. For example, the company’s office in Cambodia is currently being renovated, and this project is planned to include a 100 square metre footwear testing laboratory with SATRA accreditation.
AMG’s 250 square metre laboratory in Fujian, China has been SATRA accredited since 2015 and holds an A rating. More than 200 certified safety footwear test methods are conducted against ASTM, EN ISO, AS/NZS and CSA requirements, in addition to other key standards including EN ISO 20344:2023.

“The success in implementation and accreditation in this laboratory is due to the tireless work of Reynaldo Jose, AMG’s director of quality control,” said Michael Roy, president of manufacturing and operations. “In conjunction with SATRA, he continually demonstrates the ability to implement the highest standard testing capabilities in whatever region our footwear supply chain expands to.”
He added: “Special thanks also to our technicians Zobayer Alam and Afia Rahman for their dedication to learning the SATRA methods and making sure this project stayed on track and achieved the desired goals.”
