AFQA members meet in Hong Kong
The meeting was held at Under Armour’s offices in Hong Kong.

In October 2025, members of the California-based Apparel and Footwear Quality Association (AFQA) gathered for the body’s ‘Task Force’ in-person meeting, hosted by Under Armour in Hong Kong. The AFQA is a collaborative forum of companies which considers the physical testing of components and finished products. Its declared mission is ‘to advance the global management of physical testing parameters for apparel, footwear and related products’.
At this most recent meeting, attendees who represented a number of key international producers discussed such issues as apparel physical testing guidelines, colour fastness, bursting strength, seam strength and slippage, and resistance to snagging.
Also in attendance were members of the AFQA Laboratory Technical Advisory Committee (LabTAC) – including SATRA’s Michael Bodsworth. This group supports AFQA work by providing expert advice on physical test parameters and methods, in particular the selection and maintenance of a list of recommended and harmonised parameters and methods for use in the apparel, footwear and related products supply chain.
