Kettering MP tours SATRA HQ
Reporting on a special visit to our head office and laboratories.

It was a pleasure to welcome Rosie Wrighting – Member of Parliament for Kettering – to SATRA recently to showcase the vital work taking place at our UK headquarters. At the age of 26, Miss Wrighting was the youngest female MP elected at the 2024 UK general election.
While we are incredibly proud of our deep roots in Northamptonshire, SATRA is a truly global business. We support a diverse international membership and a vast network of offshore customers, ensuring that Kettering remains at the very heart of global research, safety and compliance for the footwear, furniture and PPE industries.
Meeting the team
Hannah Coe – SATRA’s head of footwear and innovation – highlighted aspects of her department’s testing services
The aim of this noteworthy visit was to introduce SATRA and highlight the links that we as an international organisation are forging with local schools and colleges to provide career and training opportunities for the next generation and the community. While at SATRA, Miss Wrighting toured the laboratories and discussed our services with experts from the chemistry, footwear, fall arrest, flammability, innovation and furniture teams. She also met representatives from the British Footwear Association.
A real highlight of the visit was the opportunity to share some of the stories behind SATRA’s amazing people. Their journeys of growth within the organisation illustrate the high-level expertise required to support our members across the world.
Miss Wrighting will be hosting a parliamentary reception at Portcullis House in Westminster (home to offices for MPs and their staff) to draw attention to the heritage and economic importance of the UK footwear sector.
