Nike targets hybrid athletes

Nike has launched a performance footwear system designed for athletes who combine running, strength training and functional fitness in training and competition. The range includes the ‘Nike Hybrid Fly’ for racing and the ‘Nike Hybrid RN’ for training. Both are said to have been developed with input from elite and recreational hybrid athletes.
The Hybrid Fly features ‘ZoomX’ foam, a full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate and dual forefoot ‘Air Zoom’ units to assist running performance with stability and traction during strength-based races. Other features include a wider platform, race lockdown lacing and a multi-zone traction outsole. The Hybrid RN incorporates ‘ReactX’ foam, a forefoot Air Zoom unit and a wide outsole designed to deliver cushioning, responsiveness and stability.
The Hybrid RN launches globally in October, while the Hybrid Fly releases worldwide in April 2027.
