Hong Kong fair presents new leather innovations

Since its inception in 1984, APLF-MM&T has become an important diary date for companies working in the leather industry. Held annually in Hong Kong, this fair includes participation from organisations based in southern China, India and South Asia. During the 2011 edition, almost 20,000 buyers from 88 countries attended the show.

Exhibitors use the APLF-MM&T event to promote a variety of products, including rawhides and skins, semi-finished and finished leather, exotic leather and premium materials. Both natural and synthetic materials will also be on show, in addition to process chemicals and dyes, tanning and shoe machinery, components, accessories, equipment and tools.

Two additional events will run alongside the APLF-MM&T fair. The ‘Fashion Access’ show is dedicated to bags, footwear, small leathergoods, lifestyle accessories and travel goods. With a strong emphasis on leather within the fashion industry, this exhibition has proved popular with many buyers. In addition, the ‘Prime Source Forum’ event will see over 400 senior executives from all sectors of the apparel and footwear industry are expected to network with each other using the meeting and trading facilities provided. Discussions and debates regularly take place on the challenges and opportunities that impact on the world of footwear and fashion.
