Positive reaction to SATRA’s presence at PPE exhibition

Many visitors enquired about SATRA’s testing services and the opportunity to purchase equipment.

The 84th China International Occupational Safety & Health Goods Expo (CIOSH) opened its doors to visitors on 24th April 2012. Held in the Shanghai Everbright Exhibition and Convention Centre, this three-day event takes place twice a year – in Shanghai and then in another Chinese mainland city where the country’s personal protective equipment (PPE) industry is located. Due to the increasing awareness of the Chinese PPE industry, the exhibition has developed rapidly. More than 600 exhibitors showcased their products and services at the Shanghai CIOSH exhibition this year – three times the number which took part in 2011.

SATRA’s Michael Cooper and Canny Gan were joined at the event by Block Wei and Candy Lei from Team Testing – the authorised distributor for the Technology Centre’s test equipment. Demonstrations included the Martindale abrasion test, and many visitors showed interest in SATRA’s testing services and the opportunity to purchase equipment in order to set up their own quality control capacity.

Visitors to the SATRA stand included safety footwear manufacturers from around China, a number of whom were already aware that SATRA is opening a test laboratory in Dongguan. Reaction to this news was positive, with some delegates expressing the opinion that the SATRA laboratory will provide a greater choice of tests and make it easier to get professional advice.
