Differences between flexing methods

Considering the range of tests available to assess the important footwear characteristic of flex resistance.

The flexing action of human gait can have a major effect on the durability and performance of footwear. SATRA research indicates that during normal walking, the sole of the footwear may flex by as much as 50 degrees, and the upper and lining also flex significantly over the vamp area. As a result, each of these components is stressed and strained with every step, and so the footwear may become damaged.
