SATRA Technical Seminars: Polyurethane solings – types, structure, properties and end uses

SATRA experts John Hubbard and Charlotte Fowle will join Steve Rose at the SATRA offices and laboratory in Dongguan to deliver a series of technical seminars across four days. The seminars are aimed primarily at footwear technologists and will appeal to those new to the industry and also more experienced personnel wishing to gain an update on the latest thinking in a particular area.

There are many different types of polyurethane (PU) soling materials in common use. These include reaction-moulded and thermoplastic types ranging from very soft flexible materials to very hard materials for top-pieces (top-lifts). How are these produced, and what specific properties do they offer footwear? Guidance is given to footwear end uses and also on how to ensure they perform to customers' expectations.

This is a half-day seminar, taking place in the afternoon.
