The test methods, marking and information to be supplied with gloves that claim protection against thermal risks are detailed in EN 407. This is applicable to gloves and hand protective equipment intended to protect the hands or part of the hand against risks such as flames, contact heat, radiant heat or convective heat. The current version of EN 407 was published in April 2020 and the requirements of this recent standard will be explained in detail by Hannah Coe, a certification assessor in SATRA’s safety products team. Gloves for welding and fire-fighters have their own specific standards, so these are not within the scope of EN 407.

After the webinar, certification assessor Rebecca Bayliss and Simon Courtney,  SATRA’s consumer products divisional manager, will be available to answer questions submitted during the webinar.
