POPs stands for persistent organic pollutants, these accumulate in the environment and are a hazard to human health and the environment. These substances are regulated by the Stockholm Convention and the Aarhus protocol, the EU implementation of this worldwide legislation is the POPs regulation (EU) No 2019/1021 and in this webinar we will cover these European requirements.
This regulation aims to put restrictions on these harmful substances to manage the risks associated with these. These substances can be classified as pesticides, industrial chemicals and unintentional by-products from industry.
In this introductory session, presented by chemical technologist Jade Hurley, we will discuss the background to the regulation, how this affects consumer products and your obligations to these requirements. There will be a Q&A session at the end to answer any questions you may have.
