Protective gloves for welders

This standard is specifically intended for gloves designed to be used during welding operations and allied processes. It includes reference to EN 420 requirements to ensure that the gloves themselves do not cause harm to the wearer, are comfortable and correctly sized.

Requirements for thermal and mechanical testing are listed in the below table. Type B gloves are more suitable where a higher dexterity but lower protective properties would be required (such as during TIG welding) and Type A gloves are for more general welding and cutting operations where higher protection would be needed.
