PPE Webinars
Heat and flame PPE clothing
PPE clothing for heat and/or flame protection requires rigorous testing and accurate classification.
In this webinar we will discuss each test method required and learn how they relate to the array of specifications you may encounter.
Restricted Substances Testing of Unsupported Protective Gloves
Do you supply or manufacture unsupported gloves? If the answer is 'yes', there are numerous restricted substances to consider when selling or manufacturing in the EU or the UK.
This webinar will detail the restricted chemicals legislation relevant for such products, including REACH and chemical innocuousness requirements.
Industrial kneepads - new EN 14404:2024 series
With the 2024 series now harmonised, manufacturers must transition to the updated requirements. This marks a significant shift in how industrial knee protection is tested and certified.
Jade Swan-McCay, SATRA head of safety products testing, will present details of the EN 14404:2024 series. She will share practical insights gained from early testing and supporting manufacturers through the new requirements.
EN 360:2023 Retractable-type Fall Arresters
The transition period for updating to the new EN 360:2023 retractable-type fall arresters (RTFAs) standard is about to expire.
Join us to learn more about the changes, plus how SATRA can help with this important new standard for fall protection.
New BS EN ISO 16321-1:2022+A1:2025 eyewear standard
EN 166 has been the foundation of protective eyewear in Europe for over two decades. During that time, materials, manufacturing methods and testing technologies have evolved significantly.
BS EN ISO 16321-1 replaces EN 166 as the harmonised standard for general eye and face protection, which affects testing, marking and certification. This webinar will focus on what has changed, why it matters and what you need to do to stay compliant.
Motorcycle Garment Testing
All motorcycle clothing must be tested and found to be fully compliant with EN 17092 when certifying to CE and/or UKCA.
This webinar will explain the requirements of each clause and give insight into the tests performed at our very own motorcycle test laboratory. Our experts will focus on the requirements of Class A, AA, and AAA garments and give an overview of the certification and testing process.
PPE Certification questions
Once I have submitted my EU-Type examination application form, what happens next? How can I add another manufacturing location to my existing certificate? What are the criteria SATRA require to accept a test report in support of my application?
During this live webinar, these and many other commonly asked questions about PPE certification will be answered by an expert panel from our experienced Certification team. Find out the answers to learn how SATRA can help you to navigate the process smoothly and efficiently.
Hi-vis PPE
In this webinar Jack Darlow and Simon Courtney discuss the testing associated with high-visibility and enhanced-visibility garments for PPE under the illumination of headlights. They include garment classifications, mechanical properties and photometric testing.
Safety footwear uppers
The EN ISO 20345 series of standards for safety, protective and occupational footwear contain requirements for tests of materials, components and whole shoes that may be used in support of EC-type examination.
While some of the tests cover key protective properties such as the impact resistance of toe caps, other tests cover outer and lining materials used in the upper. In this webinar we look at the testing carried out on these materials.
Respiratory PPE
This webinar, hosted by SATRA's respiratory technologist Antony Beska McLeod, covers various testing standards within the respiratory industry, including full-face masks and disposable dust masks, while providing insight into how some of the crucial tests are performed.
