Breaking force, extension at break, strength factor and tightness of threads

SCOPE
This method is intended to determine the breaking force, breaking extension, strength factor and tightness of threads. The method is applicable to all types of thread used in the construction of footwear.
PRINCIPLE
A test specimen is extended until it breaks using a tensile testing machine. The breaking strength, extension at break, strength factor and tightness are determined from the force versus extension graph.
